Apple Fritter Recipe

Apple Fritters (Malaya’s Style)

Ingredients:

3 Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored and diced (any apple of your choice will definitely do)

1/4 cup canola oil or any neutral-flavored oil

Batter:

350 grams all-purpose flour

100 ml. water

150 ml. milk

150 grams brown sugar

1 egg

2 tsp. cinnamon

2 1/2 tsp. gingerbread spice

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. vanilla

2 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Procedure:

  • in a big bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together
  • add the wet ingredients and mix well
  • add the apples and mix together
  • heat the canola oil in a pan or skillet
  • once hot enough add 1-2 tablespoon of the apple fritter mixture on the pan
  • adjust the heat to medium
  • once edges are golden brown, flip over and cook the other side
  • drain excess oil and serve

*You can add more sugar according to your taste

*You can also reduce the amount of cinnamon depending on your taste and omit the gingerbread spice if you don’t like it

*You can also serve it with icing sugar or ice cream if you want
